Minecraft Bible: Solomon’s Temple

I finally did something other than Noah’s Ark. As a joke I was going to make a third Ark, but I doubt anyone would find it funny.

Anyway, I built Solomon’s Temple this time. It was much more complicated than the Ark, and as such mine isn’t very good. So while I will show you my Solomon’s Temple, I will also share with you the video I based mine on. It’s a better video, and I recommend everyone watch that one instead.

Here is my video.

Here is the superior video mine is based on.

Humour in the Bible

Psalm 2:4 (KJV)

He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

People seem to get upset when I tell them that there are funny moments in the Bible, as though the very idea of humour is blasphemous. But as this post points out, God definitely has a sense of humour. So why wouldn’t it be included in His Book? The one He inspired. Below are three of my favourite humourous stories in the Bible. Starting with the most well-known.

Samson’s Pun

Samson, who was gifted with incredible strength as long as he never cut his hair, was an enemy of the Philistines. At one point an entire army came to kill him, but he picked up the jaw bone of a donkey and slayed them all. Then he famously said, “With the jaw of a donkey, I have made donkeys of them”. Or as the King James Version says,

Judges 15:15-16 (KJV)

And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith. And Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men.

Raiders of the Lost Ark…kind of

This story is actually told in three parts. The Ark of the Covenant was the item the Israelites used to win their battles against their enemies. It was essentially like carrying God around without actually carrying Him around. That’s a bad description, but hopefully you get what I’m saying.

Anyway, during a particularly nasty battle, the Philistines managed to steal the Ark. This seemed like a major victory to them, because the Israelites ended up losing the battle, and some important people ended up dying.

But the Philistines quickly found out that that wasn’t the best idea they could have done. The statue of their god, Dagon, fell over. When they set it up, it fell over again the following morning, and this time the head and hands had cleanly broken off. As you can imagine, the Philistines were afraid and took the Ark out of the city and into the country.

However, that wasn’t enough. The Philistines were hit with plagues. After seven months, they put the Ark on a cart and had it sent back to the Israelites.

Peter’s Ghost

Now one from the New Testament. King Herod set out to kill Peter, as he knew that would please the Jews. So he had Peter captured and held captive for a long time. Meanwhile the Church was praying for his safe return at Mary’s house. One night, while Peter slept in his cell with two guards on watch in front of his cell, an angel woke him up and said to follow. Scripture even says that Peter was hoping that this was really happening and not just a dream.

Acts 12:9 (KJV)

And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

When he was out of the prison, he went back to Mary’s house. But when he knocked on the door, instead of letting him in immediately, they grew afraid because they thought Peter was dead and that his ghost was at the door. Eventually, of course, they let him in, and he had to explain what happened.

Acts 12:13-16 (KJV)

And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda. And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate. And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel. But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.

There are many other funny moments in Scripture, but these are my three favourite ones. If you have a favourite funny verse or biblical story, feel free to share them in the comments.

Minecraft Bible: Noah’s Ark

Have you ever played a video game called Minecraft? If not, I highly recommend it. Especially if you are the creative type. I have recreated Noah’s Ark based on the dimensions given in the Bible. It’s much bigger than I could have anticipated. Here is a video of it for those interested. I don’t have a way of recording the gameplay from my Xbox 360, so I had to setup my tripod and film the TV screen.

King James VI of Scotland

Whenever someone wants to discredit the King James Version of the Bible, they usually say it was translated by an earthly king who wanted to make himself appear higher than anyone else. They say King James was out to glorify himself with his version.

This is a very ignorant statement to make.

King James was very educated, and often questioned the bishops of the Church of England. When he dared to say he had a personal relationship with God, they scolded him, saying that he’s not on the same level as God. There were already several English translations of the Bible, but all of them (the Geneva Bible, the Bishop’s Bible, etc) were corrupted and often had the translator’s opinions thrown in.

In 1604, James commissioned a new translation of the Bible. One that had no bias, but instead was based entirely on the original texts. In fact, if you take the Greek and Hebrew versions and do a literal translation of them for yourself, you’ll get something extremely close to the King James Version. As I’ve said before, other translations change the Word, and those don’t hold up when looked at the original languages.

People also like to point out all of James’ flaws to show the his version must also be flawed. If you’re looking at any human, you’ll find a long list of imperfections. The only perfect person was and is Jesus Christ.

Islam

Acts 15:7(KJV)

And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

If you follow this series and know how I do things, you’ll probably see this title and try to get a couple hundred miles away from me when the nuke goes off. Heck, I flat-out called Catholicism a false religion. What am I going to say about Islam??

But actually this post will be a little different. I’m actually going to defend Muslims.

While I am a Christian with all of my heart, I’m also a seeker of truth (which is what lead me to Christ). If you look at my early blog posts from years ago, long before I started this series, you’ll realize I love researching random things. I tend to look stuff up for myself before I believe it. If I see a post on Facebook making some claim (celebrity death, some overly simple cure for diabetes, etc) I look it up before sharing.

So naturally, when everyone started calling Muslims terrorists and saying the Quran says to kill non-Muslims, I researched it for myself. And I was shocked at what I found. Islam is similar to Christianity in at least one way.

Terrorists have taken the Quran and deliberately mistranslated it to make it fit their agenda. When the media wants to paint Islam in a bad light, they read the mistranslated version.

“But it says to kill infidels!” you’re probably saying. It says to kill idolaters.

The Old Testament has a similar law. Our God is a jealous God. The first Commandment is to not have any gods other than Him. So is it really all that surprising that in the time before forgiveness was possible that idolaters were to be killed? Now we can be forgiven, thanks to Jesus’ sacrifice.

Islam, believe it or not, is a religion of peace. I’m friends with some of them, and they’re some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. The problem is that extremists come in and want things their way, so they twist the Quran to say something it doesn’t.

I think it might help to have Christian examples. The Ku Klux Klan is a group of white supremists who use the Bible to further their agenda. They claim to be Christians, but they are a terrorist group.

You might look at the Klan and go, “What?? They’re not Christians!! They’re spreading hate and violence!!” Now you understand how real Muslims view ISIS, al Qaeda, and the Taliban.

Now you’re probably why I’m defending Muslims in a Christian blog. It goes back to the opening verse.

Acts 15:7(KJV)

And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

I would absolutely love it if everyone became a Christian. Including my Islamic friends. But Christianity is a choice. We’re not called to convert anyone, we’re called to just spread the Word of God. If someone decides to believe upon hearing, that’s awesome! But if you tell them about Jesus and they don’t accept Him as the Son of God, that’s not on you.

So if people decide to be Muslim, do not judge them. We’re called to love everyone. Hating Muslims because they’re Muslim makes you no better than what you claim they are. I’m always hearing people say, “We need to kill all the Muslims”. Why? Because they kill non-Muslims? If you don’t see the irony in that, that’s just sad…

Biblical Translations

3 John 1:4 (KJV)

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

One of the biggest controversies splitting modern Christians is the debate over which English translation of the Bible is the most accurate. I’m going to just say right now that it’s the King James Version. No sense making that be the twist ending of this post, because it wouldn’t be much of a twist. If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll have noticed that I’ve been using that version since the beginning of this series. My goal here is to prove that it’s the correct version and why other, more modern versions are actually evil.

What? The Bible is evil? When it changes the Word of God to fit an agenda, then yes, it’s evil. Let’s start with the New International Version, which is the most popular modern version. What do the translators of the NIV have to say?

“Even the best literal translation can’t follow the original form all the time. And even the best meaning-based translation can’t capture every detail of meaning found in the original.”

That was the translators themselves (not some anti-NIV website) stating that it’s not possible to translate the Bible so that the original meaning is there. So by there own admission, their version isn’t complete or authoritative.

Michael Marlowe of Bible Researcher has this to say:

“In June of 2011 the Council of Biblical Manhood and Womanhood (CBMW) published a critique of the 2011 NIV, which describes and criticizes the gender-neutralizing alterations of the revision. The critique is carefully written, and I recommend it highly. It should be studied by those who are considering using this version. The critique rightly emphasizes the fact that the revision is designed “to water down or omit details of meaning that modern culture finds offensive.” This is the crux of the matter: the theoretical position taken by the NIV revisers, that the language of the version must be made inoffensive to the sensitivities of feminism. That is what makes the revision unacceptable to conservatives.”

Romans 9:33 (KJV)

33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

The Bible will offend people. By changing things to make it inoffensive, you’re changing the word of God, which is forbidden.

Interpreting the Bible is very important to understanding it. This page is a clear example of people who read the Bible and misinterpreted it. I’m going to run through real fast and refute their claims.

The site says: “1- Notice in Luke 24:1, the women came to the tomb with medicine and found Jesus gone.  If he was already dead, they would have no reason to bring this to dead Jesus.  But Jesus was alive and was receiving medical treatment.”

Luke 24:1 (KJV)

24 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.

Spices are not medicines. Jesus was a Jew, remember? Here’s a Jewish website explaining Jewish burial customs. they use spices instead of flowers.

The site says: “2- Also, notice in John 20:15, Mary Magdalene thought Jesus was a gardener, after he healed and rose back up.”

Here, context is key, so I included the verse before and the verse after:

John 20:14-16 (KJV)

14 And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. 16 Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.

She wasn’t looking at Him and didn’t even realize it was Jesus.

The site says: “3- And in John 20:17, Jesus was still in pain, he told Mary Magdalene “touch me not!”.”

John 20:17 (KJV)

17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Basically, “Don’t waste any time, but go tell people that I have risen.”

The site says: 4- And in John 20:19-29, Jesus showed his original body to the disciples, and they checked it. Jesus Christ: Never actually died. He has always been alive in the tomb receiving medical treatment. He was never buried underground, or in a coffin. He was laid on the floor, alive.”

These spiritually blind people were falsely preaching that Jesus was alive in the tomb, merely getting medical treatment, and they used modern traditions to back up their claims. It was customary of the time to bury people in a tomb (back in those days it was more like a cave than what we consider a tomb these days. They were saying that because there was no coffin, and because Jesus physically appeared to His Disciples, he never died. they were denying the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. that’s what satan wants the world to do.

To really understand the Word of God, and to avoid corrupt teaching like the one I just presented, you need a correct translation of the Bible. But how can I be sure that the King James Bible is the one true English version? As always, I will back up my claims.

But lucky for me, Jesus-Is-Savior.com already thoroughly did this for me. That link is a list of other links proving that the King James Version is the authoritative version of the Bible. And here is a list of verses deleted from the NIV.

I know most people reading this will probably be thinking, “But the King James version is written in Shakespearean and is impossible to understand. NIV and modern translations are written in plain English”. I know you’re thinking that because I thought the same way my entire life until recently. I used the NIV my whole life, always being told I should use the KJV. I’m dyslexic, so I always used that as my excuse for not reading the hard-to-read version. But eventually, last week, I did the research for myself and was shocked to find out how many changes modern versions made. Modern translations of the Bible literally attack God’s Word by changing things around, removing words or verses, and by trying hard not to offend anyone. King James Version offends people, because it makes them realize they’re living in sin. it doesn’t shy away from the heavy stuff.

And as for being hard to read, once I saw the truth, I started trying to read the KJV more, and now, a week later, it’s not a problem for me. I’m dyslexic and I can understand it. If I come across something i don’t understand, I merely research it until I understand it. There is no excuse for not understanding God’s Word.

Catholicism [updated]

Romans 16:17 (KJV)

17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

2 Corinthians 11:13-15 (KJV)

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Revelation 13:8 (KJV)

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Matthew 23:9 (KJV)

And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV)

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Catholicism is, if you couldn’t surmise from the verses I listed above, a false religion. In Mark 7:6-9, Jesus talks about people who teach the doctrines of men instead of the Commandment of God. What the Catholic Church teaches is doctrine of man. Catholics believe that you can pray someone into Heaven after they die. Prayer of the Dead. This goes contrary to what the Bible teaches. Luke 16:19-31 proves that once you die, your eternal fate has been set.

As Bible.org says: “Praying for the dead is not a biblical concept. Our prayers have no bearing on someone once they have died. At that point their eternal future is confirmed. Either they are saved through faith in Christ and are in God’s presence where they are experiencing rest and the joy of being in His presence, or they are in hell or torments.

Jesus says to “call no man father“, yet their priests are called “father”. The Pope is called “holy father”.

Revelation 19:10 (KJV)

10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

The Catholics worships Mary. As GotQuestions.org says, “There is nothing wrong with honoring Mary as the earthly mother of Jesus. The Bible describes Mary as “highly favored” by God (Luke 1:28). At the same time, there is no instruction in the Bible to revere those whom have gone to Heaven. We are to follow their example, yes, but worship, revere, or venerate, no!” Nowhere in scripture does it tell us to pray to or worship anyone else but God.

Catholics believe in Purgatory, which is where they believe you go after you die to cleanse the sins that weren’t cleansed on Earth. Meaning that according to Catholic belief, Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross wasn’t good enough, you have to suffer yourself to be cleansed of your own sins. this goes against everything that the Bible teaches. It’s made very clear that Jesus died for everyone, and for all sins.

The Catholic Church reads in Latin. While this may not sound like a big deal, there’s actually a verse that forbids praying and teaching in an unknown language.

Catholics look up to the pope for guidance, and they pray to him, kiss his ring, and consider him the earthly messenger of God (who was voted in by a counsel of humans). This, of course, goes against everything Jesus taught. In fact, Jesus forbade such a figure. It’s made very clear that Jesus is the head of the Church. Also, Catholics claim that Peter was the first pope. However, there is no biblical evidence of this, nor that Peter ever even went to Rome.

Catholics worship the crucifix, among other “holy” objects. Yet there is a certain one of the Ten Commandments that the Catholics need to reread.

Exodus 20:4 (KJV)

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

The Catholic Church canonizes saints.  But the Bible calls everyone who is a follower of Christ a saint.

Catholics attend mass daily to offer up “sacrifice” every day. But the bible clearly states that Jesus’ sacrifice was the only one that we shall ever need.

Rosaries are a pagan ritual.

There is a long list of other proofs that Catholicism is a false religion.

So what does the falsehoods of Catholicism have to do with the Fig Tree Reborn? All throughout the Bible, there is prophesied a false religion that will rise up that will claim to be the one true church of Christ, but really be blasphemous. this religion will be the basis of a one-world religion. there is more than enough evidence that points to Catholicism being the false religion mentioned in the Bible. Pope Francis will be the final pope. I shall end this here, with the words of Mary, proving she is not the one to be worshiped.

Luke 1:46-49 (KJV)

46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. 48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. 49 For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.

[update]
This post seems to upset people more than any other post I’ve done. I’ve had people claim I’m saying that their Catholic relatives who have passed on are burning in hell because they were Catholic. I did not say that. So I feel this post warrants an update, to clarify…
As I pointed out in this post, the only thing that really matters between each denominations is that you accept Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Catholics do believe that Jesus is the Messiah. But a large part of their religion is added to and goes against Scripture. Like graven images, praying to saints, and everything about the Vatican.
But not everyone who calls themselves Catholic pray to saints or considers the pope valid. So it’s still possible to be Catholic and be saved. Just I’d be careful which traditions you practice if you choose to go that route.

The Fig Tree

What do I mean by “Fig Tree Reborn”? Why did I call it that? Let’s look at the book of Hosea:

Hosea 9:10 (KJV)

10 I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baalpeor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved.

Israel is the Fig Tree.

In Matthew 24, Jesus talks about the rebirth of Israel (reblooming of the fig tree). saying:

34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Israel was later destroyed, in 70 AD. After that, Israel ceased to exist. It was just like Persia and Babylon, ancient nations that are now little more than mere memories.

In 1948, the Nation of Israel was…wait, what? That can’t be right. The Nation of Israel was reborn? After being gone for nearly 2,000 years? I looked and couldn’t find any other example of a nation being defeated then being re-established 2,000 years later. Not only that, but this was prophesied several times in the Bible.

Right, so a generation won’t pass until “these things” happen. We know that the starting point is 1948. How long is a generation? Well, if you read this page, it will explain that a generation is 70 to 80 years. Which means that these things will happen before either 2018 or 2028. Note that it doesn’t say that Christ will return in this time, just that these things will happen before that generation passes.

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Notice I am not specifying a specific date. All these false prophets calling out random dates have themselves been prophesied about.

When studying scripture. Context is key to understanding. It’s widely preached that Jesus will come like a thief in the night, that we will have no way of knowing when these things will occur, so we shouldn’t even discuss them. While the Bible does say the “thief in the night” line, if you keep reading it’s revealed a few verses later that it will only be that way for those who aren’t ready.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-6 (KJV)

1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
