Pre-Trib Rapture

1 Thessalonians 4:17(KJV)

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The Rapture is one of the most dismissed aspect of the Bible. Simply because the word “Rapture” is not in there. But it’s clearly described, like in the above verse. Those who believe in the Rapture are often torn between whether it will be before the Tribulation (Pre-Trib), during the Tribulation (Mid-Trib), or after the Tribulation (Post-Trib). I believe in Pre-Trib, and here is why.

It all comes down to understanding the personality of God. Because He clearly has a personality. If you look at the Bible in context, you’ll find that Pre-Trib only makes sense.

Genesis 6:12-14(KJV)

12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. 13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

Did God destroy the world, then rescue those who were faithful to Him? No, he saved the faithful before the Flood.

Genesis 19:29(KJV)

29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.

When God destroyed Sodom, He made sure Lot and his family escaped first.

Joshua 6:23-25(KJV)

23 And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel. 24 And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the Lord. 25 And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father’s household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

Rahab and her family was spared from the destruction of Jericho because she helped the Israelites.

So, following this line of thinking, seeing a clear sign of God’s personality to get those faithful to Him out before things get very bad, it’s logical to see that it is going to be a Pre-Trib Rapture. Also there’s this verse, which tells us it will be.

Revelation 3:10(KJV)

10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Homosexuality

[Okay, before I begin I need to say that I have deliberately avoided this topic because every time I mention it I’m bitterly attacked by everyone. No matter what I say about it I’m called a hate monger and homophobic. I am not homophobic, and I don’t hate the gays. But I’ve been feeling lead to write this post for months. I’ll be sticking with the New Testament, as every time I use the Old Testament people point out that the rest of the Law of Moses says things slavery is good and that rape victims have to marry their attacker. We’re not under the Law of Moses anymore, so I won’t be using that.]

Romans 1:26-27 (KJV)

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

I’m always hearing that homosexuality isn’t a sin because it’s not mentioned in the New Testament, which is the Law we’re under now. Well, the links in this sentence will disprove that right away.

So clearly homosexuality is a sin, because it says it right there very clearly in the New Testament, where it’s always taught never brings it up. Now I want to bring your attention to another verse. This one is very important and I rarely see Christians talking about it.

Romans 2:1(KJV)

Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

I deliberately chose Romans 1:26-27 as the opening verse. Because a few verses later Paul tells us not to judge anyone or else we condemn ourselves. It’s not our place to tell people they are going to hell because of this or that. Here’s another verse I never see talked about among Christians.

Romans 15:7(KJV)

Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.

So basically, accept everyone as Jesus accepted us. This proves that all the homophobia you see in the church is very unbiblical. We’re called to love everyone.

John 13:34-35(KJV)

34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Yeah, Jesus didn’t stutter. This verse and Romans 2:1 prove that things like homophobia and racism and sexism and anything like those are very unbiblical.

Besides, it doesn’t matter if homosexuality is a sin because all sins are forgiven through faith in Jesus Christ.

Faith

Hebrews 11:1(KJV)

11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

I always hear people asking, “How can you have faith in something you can’t even see?”. Well, the above verse shows that the very definition of “faith” is that you believe without seeing. I have faith that Thomas Jefferson existed even though I have never seen him and no pictures exist of him. You could argue that proof of his existence is in Philadelphia, but I’d respond by saying that proof of God’s existence is everywhere.

Hebrews 11 is all about what faith is and how important is is.

Spiritual Warfare

1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

It’s a well-known fact that satan tries to turn everyone away from God. If you’re an angry, bitter atheist, he’s not too concerned about you. He owns you already. But if you’re standing next to Jesus, satan will do everything in his power to make sure you don’t stand there very long. But his power isn’t very strong. Check this out:

Job 1:6-12 (KJV)

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? 10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. 11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. 12 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

God had to give satan permission to be able to even touch Job. Throughout all of his trials, which were very severe, Job never lost faith as satan thought he would. And because of that Job was greatly rewarded.

I’ve always loved this verse:

1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)

13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

You will go through trials, but God will always provide a means of escape. I know from experience that sometimes it can feel that that verse is a lie. The weight of the world is on your shoulders and you’re struggling to even exist. But if you don’t lose your faith, you will find the escape that God planned for you. I’m not talking about suicide. Do not misunderstand my words. If you look, there’s always a way out of every situation.

Revelation 12:12 (KJV)

12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

That shows that satan knows he’s not going to win this war, so he’ll do anything to take as many people down with him as he can, like a kamikaze. God will win in the end, so don’t let yourself be dragged down by the side that’s going to lose.
